A psychologist called nine effective ways that will help become a happier person.
No need to wait for the unit moments that occur once a month or even once a year. You can feel happiness every day.
“Sometimes we begin to wrongly think that it is possible to rejoice only big events: birthdays, weddings, holidays, vacations or even weekends. But in fact, you can learn to be happy everyday. No need to wait for the unit moments once a month or even once a year,” writes psychologist Margarita Tartakovsky.
She calls nine ways that will help you feel happy every day:
1. Get enough sleep
Maybe not all sleep is directly associated with happiness. But, when you don’t sleep enough, you lose the ability to manage their emotions and, as a result, unable to say or do something, what’ll regret later.
In General, people need between 6 to 9 hours of sleep – and even if you nedspice some 30 minutes, this can cause you emotional and cognitive damage.
2. Listen to yourself
In order to feel happy, you need to be able to recognize their desires. To better understand what you want, find time for meditation, prayer or journal writing.
3. Move
The key to happiness in both the short and long term, as it improves your health. The key is to choose activities that do bring you joy. It can be dancing, swimming, yoga – anything. Movement and exercise should not be punishment or one more thing on your almost endless to-do list. They should please you.
4. Feel the connection with nature
Pay attention to the scenery, sounds, smells and tastes of what surrounds you. Take a walk around the neighborhood, dial a bouquet of flowers or collect autumn leaves for a herbarium.
5. Strengthen your relationship
Than the best condition of your relationship, the happier you feel. Try not to allow that social networks have replaced real-life friends you. Go with friends for lunch or a walk. Call grandma every Sunday. Been going to the gym with the wife or husband.
6. Find your inspiration
Without inspiration happiness is impossible. Find the thing that causes you have a sincere interest, and begin to master it. It can be any sport, art or music.
7. Have more fun
Regardless of years, the desire to play always remains in the human subconscious. The game is all classes, during which you do not care about the outcome, and just get pleasure from what you do. Sing, take photos, cook, draw, invent stories.
Even 10 minutes of play a day is enough to be happy.
8. Help others
Perhaps you should look into volunteering or just helping someone cross the street, smile to a stranger or to feed someone’s parametr. Everything that makes others happy, do nice.
9. Stop repressing your feelings
Remember that to experience a range of emotions, including negative, is perfectly normal. All our senses – properties of human nature. They do not need to be afraid.
