All so busy with the Olympics in Rio to Janeiro, a new world record single non-stop flight around the world in a balloon were as if not seen.
At least some resonance in the social networks I noticed. Fedor Konyukhov circled the Earth for 11 days. More precisely, for 11 days, 5 hours and 31 minutes.
The previous record of 13 days.
This achievement is the American Steve Fossett.

Where is the enthusiasm?
If someone thinks that it was just and safely start flying, he is mistaken. Grooms was flying at 60-meter ball “Morton”. He overcame 34,7 thousand kilometrov. The gondola is open, the height of the monstrous (a maximum of 10.6 thousand meters), oxygen-free space and temperature of minus 40 degrees. Grooms at some point, found themselves without heating and nearly froze to death. And anyway, he had done very cool and beautiful. His son Oscar said: Fedor was able to do it the first time, on the first try.
In the history of world Aeronautics, there has been only two successful world tour in a balloon. One on the third attempt in the Northern hemisphere, and this is the sixth attempt in the southern hemisphere.
Most importantly, of course, he very nicely went here over the airport in Western Australia and crossed their start line, and if you look at the map, he made a cross. No doping, no scandals. But for some reason, and glory not so much.
