Experts have called the most common computer viruses.
Company Check Point have investigated the most common cyber threats and found that leaders are programs Conficker, ZeroAccess and Sality.
The researchers said that currently the main threat to a computer worm called Conficker. Since 2008, the malware has infected millions of computers around the world, spreading through social networks, including Facebook and Skype, and popular e-mail services. The malware exploited a vulnerability in Windows (CVE-2008-4250), which was not at that time resolved.
Check Point also called Conficker a major threat last month, with the help of this program, the attackers had committed 17% of malware attacks discovered by experts. The authors of the malware still has not been caught, despite the promised reward of $250 thousand from Microsoft. Since 2008, Conficker has infected not only hard drives and USB drives, but even body cameras police officers of the United States. Experts from the British CERT (national response centre for cyber threats) found more than half a million Conficker infected devices in April of this year.
The Sality family of malware can be named the second most common threat to Windows users because the malware was committed 12% of reported attacks. Representatives of this family were first identified in 2010.
