The specialists were treated with extract of hops two lines of breast cells. It turned out, a slow metabolism of estrogen in the cells increased the risk of developing cancer.

But the compound from hops – 6-prenylnaringenin (6-PN) is increased metabolism, activating the detoxification in cells. 6-PN binds to estrogen receptors, enhancing hormone activity. The connection is so strong that some of he fails in the menstrual cycle. By the way, in hops there is a similar connection – 8-prenylnaringenin (8-PN). But it’s such a strong effect not produce.

In turn, Italian researchers analyzed more than 1,500 investigations and found that consuming up to two small cans of beer (330 ml) per day not only not harmful, but also reduces the risk of heart disease and blood vessels by nearly a quarter. The Mediterranean neurological Institute in Pozzilli believes that the alcohol and other components of beer are for the positive effects.

Scientists say most women can drink a small can of beer a day, and most of the men – two banks, without fear of getting dementia, cancer or other common ailments. The exceptions are people with a high risk of cancer associated with alcohol use, or high risk of addiction. Others can feel the positive effect of the beer, rich in phenolic compounds. These compounds have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In theory the beer can even protect the body from viruses. And yet it has minerals including potassium, iron and calcium.
