MTS and Nokia has tested 5G

МТС и Nokia провели тестирование 5GNokia and MTS conducted a speed test as part of 5G. The result showed a record value in the segment of mobile data transmission, 4.5 GB/s.

“During testing, we managed to reach a maximum speed of 4.5 GB/s, which allows to transfer a file that is 1 GB in less than 2 s. In the case of operating the usual notions of content, such speed will allow you to get the contents of the CD format quality Hi-Fi 1.5, while an hour-long film in Full-HD will be downloaded by the user approximately 14”, – stated in the message.

During testing, the signal was broadcast on unlicensed frequencies: a 4.65 to 4.85 GHz in radio channels with width of 100 MHz, which simulates the operation of the base station and the mobile terminal. Was the results will help networks operate using different scenarios under 5G.

MTS experts are sure that new technical solutions will allow to improve quality and are demanded in various segments of activity. The input of the 5G standard for a subset of users is planned in 2018.
