Medvedev: Russia will not change the economy for the interests of Turkey

The Russian authorities do not intend to change the country’s economy for the interests of other countries, including the interests of Turkey, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The resumption of economic ties with Turkey, as well as addressing a number of related policy issues will be carried out in stages, said the head of the Russian government in an interview with the presenter of the program “Vesti on Saturday” Sergey Brilev. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we have all these talks with our Turkish colleagues will be ready to spend,” – said Dmitry Medvedev.

He stressed that the country’s leadership does not intend to “consciously change the economy under any state including and our major trading partner, Turkey.”

The Prime Minister recalled that before the cooling of Russian-Turkish relations because of the incident with the downed aircraft su-24 Turkey’s share in foreign trade turnover of Russia was around 5%, which was high.
