The CIA was tasked to develop options for the White House on the “underground” cyber operations that is designed to intimidate the leadership in the Kremlin.
In the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama to consider an unprecedented covert operation against Russia as a response to the Russian hacker intervention in the American election campaign. This was announced by the officials from U.S. intelligence, reports European Pravda, citing NBC News.
Officials claim that the CIA (Central intelligence Agency) was requested to develop options for the White House in the “underground” cyber operations that is designed to intimidate the leadership in the Kremlin.
The sources did not specify what specific measures considering the CIA, but said that the Agency has already started the selection of goals and start preparing for cyber operations.
In addition, former security officials reported that the CIA collected many of the documents that could expose the questionable tactics of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Recall, U.S. officials familiar with the investigation of hacker attacks, said that there is growing evidence that the Russian government is supplying WikiLeaks broken electronic letters concerning the presidential elections in the United States.
The Russian foreign Ministry said earlier that the US claims that Russia is responsible for cyber attacks against the Democratic party have no proof and are an attempt by Washington to develop an “unprecedented anti-Russian hysteria”.
