Media: Iran will not freeze the oil

СМИ: Иран не будет замораживать добычу нефти

Iran does not intend to freeze oil production, as the country is not to increase oil exports to pre-sanctions levels before the second half of the year, said managing Director of National Iranian oil company (NIOC) Rokneddin Javadi, reports Prime with reference to the Agency Mehr.

“According to Javadi, the export of Iran’s oil will reach 2.2 million barrels a day by mid-summer. First exports of crude oil reached this figure before in relation to a country sanctions were imposed more than four years ago”, — stated in the message.

“The government has no plans at the moment to freeze or interrupt the growth of oil production and exports,” said Javadi.

“So the plan for increasing oil production continues to operate,” added Javadi.

The Iranian authorities will meet with partners in OPEC 2 Jun.

Iran and the six international negotiators had previously reached a historic agreement on the settlement of the longstanding problem of the Iranian atom. Months of negotiations concluded with the adoption of a joint comprehensive plan of action, which is completely removed from Iran’s previously imposed economic and financial sanctions by the UN security Council, US and EU.

In April, the managing Director of National Iranian oil company (NIOC) Rokneddin Javadi said oil exports will reach 2 million barrels per day within the next month, and the pre-sanctions level, the country will be released in June. As noted by NIOC, in 2011 Iran exported about 2.2 million barrels per day, while production was about 4 million barrels.
