A group of radical Islamists were detained during a special operation in the Vologda region. Officially, the suspects were involved in logging.

According to the investigators, extremist cell operated under the guise of a crew of loggers. The proceeds from the sale of timber funds were sent to militants in Syria.
“Everything is legal. If it was illegal we would be allowed to work here or what? No one would not let us work here. All legal. We pay taxes, everything. Officially work,” — says one of the members of the cell.
The origin of this cooperative remains to be seen investigating authorities, as well as the fact that the detainees were planning on having an Arsenal of weapons.
