Kuwaiti authorities consider the privatization of oil assets

Kuwait is studying the privatization of assets in the oil services, said Deputy Minister of Finance Khalifa Hamada.

According to him, the Ministry of Finance of Kuwait and the state oil company Kuwait Petroleum Corporation are discussing the possibility of privatization of assets, with the transaction expected to be service companies, not production capacity, reports RIA “Novosti”.

Hamada recalled that Kuwait plans to issue bonds for the amount of $9,94 billion to the end of the year.

Earlier, the Kuwait Minister of Finance ANAS al-Saleh said that the country will use the debt resources to Finance the budget deficit for 2016-2017.
