The negotiations lasted 14 hours.
Russia and the United States has developed a comprehensive approach to resolve the conflict in Syria, said U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry after talks with Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Geneva.
“We believe that the plan, in the form in which it was created, will be respected and will serve as a starting point for change. Because all those sufferings which we are here (in Syria — ed.) watched for more than five years are really beyond human understanding… Working together, Russia and the United States, our team has developed a more integrated approach that will allow us to work together to achieve these goals,” he said.
Recall, Russia and the USA agreed on a plan for a truce in Syria. The document includes a full ceasefire, including air strikes. Lavrov and Kerry call on the parties to the conflict to commit to the ceasefire starting from 12 September.
