Tehran on Sunday, 14 February, announced the first batch of oil exported to Europe after the lifting of Western economic sanctions. Several Western tankers loaded with 4 million barrels of Iranian oil went to the European continent.

Half of this amount was purchased by French energy company Total, and the remaining oil was sent two companies from Russia and Spain. explained that the Russian company will direct Iranian oil at its refinery in Romania. The Tehran agreement with French energy company Total provides daily deliveries in the amount of 160-180 thousand barrels of oil.

Earlier, Iranian oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh called “traditional buyers” of Italian energy companies Eni and Saras and announced the upcoming transaction. February 14, Tehran and Rome have signed a Memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in the petrochemical industry for the total amount of contracts at one billion euros. Negotiations are also underway with the German concern BASF, which plans to invest in petrochemical industry of Iran 4 billion euros, said the Iranian authorities.

Iran exported 2.3 million barrels per day, but in 2012, oil exports from Iran fell to 1 million barrels. Today, the country produced 3.1 million daily barrels of “black gold”, said the Agency AP.
