Iran rejects the plan to freeze oil production

Иран не приемлет план по замораживанию добычи нефти

Iran considers unacceptable the plan to “freeze” the oil output proposed by Saudi Arabia. This was stated Sunday by the Minister of petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, speaking at the evening program of television channel IRINN. “We under no circumstances will not accept the plans of Saudi Arabia “freezing” of oil”, – quotes words of the Iranian Minister TV channel IRINN.

“In matters of production and export, we are in a state of undeclared war with Saudi Arabia – expressed point of view Zanganeh. – On this front, Riyadh is waging against us Subversion. And this unconventional war intended to break the oil market of Iran. To do this, Saudi Arabia throws on the market the oil at a price lower than we sell, so Iran could not extract and export its oil, and that in these conditions we were still able to double production, this is a very important achievement.”

According to Zanganeh, the proposal of Saudi Arabia “would cast oil production in the Islamic Republic at the level of the beginning of 2016″. Such a proposal could be considered only as a joke”, said the head of Iranian oil Ministry, reports “Armenpress” citing TASS.

Yesterday on the sidelines of the ongoing Tehran’s 21-th International exhibition of oil, gas and petrochemical industry, Zanganeh said that oil exports from Iran have already reached 2.45 million barrels a day, which is the highest figure after the lifting of sanctions and the beginning of the implementation of the nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers (the five permanent UN security Council members and Germany).

Currently, Iran daily produces 3.7 million barrels. Before the introduction of sanctions against Iran’s oil sector in 2012, the maximum daily export of oil from Iran reached 2.5 million barrels. With the introduction of sanctions, Iran could not exceed the quota of 1 million barrels of daily exports.
