U.S. mobile operators reported a record number of orders. So, according to the President of T-Mobile John Leger, the demand for the iPhone 7 is four times higher than the iPhone 6 two years ago. And not only on the number of orders in the first day, but on the total number of orders for the first four days.
Leger also said that the greatest demand is for both black iPhone. The demand is so high that the supply of models in these colors have been moved to November.
Another American mobile operator Sprint released data showing that the number of pre-orders for the iPhone 7 exceeds the number of orders for last year’s iPhone 6s by 375%.
Apple has not commented on the figures. Moreover, the company has previously stated that it will not publish figures on the sales of the new iPhone. Reporters noted that this happens for the first time in the history of iPhone.
Meanwhile, the reporters found that component suppliers for the iPhone 7 expect Apple will place an order for the production of at least 100 million new iPhone by the end of this year.
Sources say that Apple initially did not expect such a high demand and has placed an order for the production of approximately 72-78 million units, which is 20% lower than on the iPhone 6s last year. However, after the start of pre-sales, the company increased the plans to release iPhone 7.
Apple shares, which have fallen in price immediately after the presentation on September 7, again rose in price after the statements of the mobile operators.
