India ready to open for the EurAsEC free trade zone

India is ready to proceed to practical cooperation with the Eurasian economic Union (EEU), is waiting for the outcome of the consideration of the Report of the joint expert group, said the Ambassador in Russia, Pankaj Saran.

“We have prepared a report of the joint study group on a possible agreement on free trade between India and the Eurasian Union. This is a very important step. At the moment India and the Eurasian economic Union are negotiating the next steps after completing this report. It will also promote the development of trade between our countries and other countries of the Union,” the Ambassador said.

He noted that India has “for a long time maintains ties with the Eurasian Union,” was consulted, the parties exchanged delegations. “Now we are ready to move on to practical cooperation with the Eurasian Union and we hope that… the report Itself is a very good starting point for further steps. This will set the framework for our further economic cooperation in the fields of investment, trade,” the diplomat added.
