Temeteron tanker is in the port of Tripoli.
The foreign Ministry is trying to give the sailors a lawyer and an interpreter.
The Ukrainian foreign Ministry commented on the situation with the detention of the tanker “Timetron” in the coastal waters of Libya, members of the crew are citizens of Ukraine, Russia and Greece. It is reported by the Department of consular service of the MFA of Ukraine on his page in Facebook.
“On 28 June near the port city of Zawiya Libyan coast guard had detained the tanker Temeteron on suspicion of smuggling oil outside of Libya. According to available information, of the nine crew members and five citizens of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.
Now the tanker is in the port of Tripoli. An investigation was launched.
“The Embassy of Ukraine in Tunisia, measures are taken to clarify the circumstances of the detention of the said vessel, as well as ensuring the rights of Ukrainian seafarers, including providing them with skilled advocacy and interpreter services”, – added in Department.
