The biggest seller of Russian oil Urals in Poland — trader Mercuria — ceased operations with Russian oil in the port of Gdansk. About it reports Reuters.

It is noted that the trader will use oil tankers from Iran. Clarifies that unclaimed Mercuria will receive 250 thousand tons of Russian oil by tanker to Asia Atlantas. This tanker will arrive in Gdansk with two million barrels of Iranian oil.

According to the Agency, Polish oil company Lotos signed a contract for the purchase of two million barrels of oil the National Iranian oil company (NIOC), and the goods will arrive in Gdansk in mid-August.

At the same time the representative of the Mercuria announced that the company is still interested in the Polish market. “Unloading the Urals of tanks in Gdansk — just a reaction to the market changes, and this does not mean that Mercuria plans to stop work in Gdansk or to Poland”, — quotes its words Agency.

It adds that Russian export Urals oil has lost its position on the Polish market in 2015 due to the increased activity of oil producers in the middle East.
