In Oklahoma, after the earthquake, ordered the closure of the wells oil producers

The government of the U.S. state of Oklahoma after the earthquake, has declared a state of emergency in the County of Pawnee and demanded to preserve the 37 wells for waste water, used by local oil and gas companies. Reported by the Associated Press.

Tremors of magnitude 5.6 were with the epicenter 14 kilometers North-West of the administrative center of the district of the city of Pawnee was recorded on Saturday, September 3 at 07:02 local time (16:02 MSK) and was felt across the Midwest. The focus lies at a depth of 6.6 km.

This earthquake was the strongest in Oklahoma since November 2011. The result was a damaged three houses, one person was injured. The alert was declared at a nuclear power plant “Cooper” in Nebraska, it is noted that the plant was not injured.

The state’s Governor, Mary Fallin introduced in the County of Pawnee, state of emergency for a period of 30 days and instructed to urgently liquidate consequences of the disaster. She is also ordered to urgently close the wells and mine underground vaults sewage and water waste during the production of oil and gas which, presumably, could trigger seismic activity.

All tanks shall be closed within ten days in accordance with a special schedule so as not to cause new tremors.
