In new York held a rally of protest against NATO expansion

В Нью-Йорке состоялся митинг протеста против расширения НАТО

At the demonstration in new York activists demanded the States stop the aggressive rhetoric and expansion of NATO. About two hundred protesters gathered in times square on July 9 during the Warsaw summit of NATO.

One of the chapters of the United national anti-war coalition of the United States Joe Lombardo said that the summit has the goal of NATO expansion, but not everyone thinks such a policy is correct.

Large-scale militant actions, according to activists, are a real threat to Russia, and this is extremely dangerous, given the military potential of the country at the moment. In the coalition want the United States and NATO have ceased to threaten Russia. The existence of the Alliance have not carry any meaning because it was created to counteract the USSR, which no longer exists, but after its collapse, NATO has expanded its borders.

A member of the anti-war group international action center Sarah Flounders emphasized that President Obama is in Warsaw said that violence cannot be justified. The violence comes from the Pentagon, from the continuous wars, in Iraq and Syria. At the rally, she insisted on the necessity of ending the military campaigns of the USA in foreign countries to end violence in America.

“No NATO, no war”, “Money for jobs, not for NATO, Yes to peace, no to NATO” “No to racism and violence” – such slogans were on the posters of activists.

The same events will be held this weekend in Los Angeles, Minneapolis, San Francisco and Vancouver (Canada).
