Sunday, September 11, residents of Moscow and guests of the capital will have the first opportunity to see a restored copy of the famous silent film “Variety”, which in 1925 had introduced the Ewald DuPont. After its premiere in the beginning of XX century it was a huge success with the public. Even in our time when technology has gone far ahead, the use of DuPont light and shadow, as well as the manner of shooting acrobatic stunts on the trapeze are striking in their ingenuity.
In Moscow on the big screens will show a restored concert film “Variety”
The plot of the film “Variety” tells on air gymnast, who, by force of circumstances, had to give up the circus for a monotonous life with his wife and cheap carnival booth. When a sudden and crazy love brings him to the orphan Berta-Marie, the protagonist finds again the meaning of life. He teaches the girl to his art, and then a couple of the adventures in Berlin.

The film will be screened with live musical accompaniment performed by an international team from Russia, Sweden and Norway. New sound effects, “Variety” was first presented to the public in early 2016 at the International film festival in Tromso. Moscow premiere will take place on September 11, Sunday, in the cinema “Karo 11 October at 18.30. Tickets for the session are available for purchase now. Later to see the film will be available to residents of Murmansk, Apatity, Petrozavodsk, Saint Petersburg and Arkhangelsk.
