In India baby was born with a rare anomaly.
In the Indian city Saharanpur 22-year-old woman gave birth to a child with a rare anomaly of the body — sirenomelia, or so-called syndrome of the little mermaid.
Children with this disease are born with fused lower limbs, the child lived only 10 minutes.
“We have seen congenital disorders in children, but it was an extremely rare case. The child was born in a fish’s body, the arm span was how the fins that made this case even more unique. The upper part of the baby’s body was completely functional, but the lower part of the body was not developed”, — said the gynaecologist Vandana Aria, took delivery.
According to the publication, to the 30th week of pregnancy the new mother on what not complaining, but ultrasound on the last months showed that the child has not developed kidneys.
“There are several reasons for this syndrome: excessive consumption of drugs, vitamin deficiency, genetics, medical history or even maternal diabetes. It can also be a consequence of disruption of the blood supply. Operation in these cases is not possible due to improper development of child’s body,” added Dr. Vandana.
