Sales will start in early 2017.
The company Honda will present the European version of the Civic hatchback at the motor show in Paris in October 2016. Also the Japanese brand released a new teaser image of the car. Sales will start in early 2017. To assemble the model will plant in the British town of Swindon.
Civic-hatchback will be made in the same style that the Japanese used the same name for the sedan and coupe. According to previously published spy photos, the car will be expressive bumper, exhaust system with two tailpipes and aerodynamic spoiler.
Technical characteristics of the car are still kept secret. Earlier edition of Autocar reported that in Europe, the basic version will be offered with liter gasoline engine power of 127 HP and 200 Nm of torque. The three-cylinder motor works together with a six-speed manual transmission. Also in the line of engines will include four-cylinder petrol turbo engine capacity of 1.5 liters. “Charged” version of the Type R will get a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing more than 300 horsepower.
Prototype hastbacka Civic, Honda introduced in March 2016 at the Geneva motor show. The concept was 30 mm wider and 20 mm lower and 130 mm longer than a standard Civic of the previous generation. The car got a longer wheelbase, short overhangs and sleek body.
