Harper HB-300 is a stylish sport Bluetooth headset for little money

Play sports along with your favorite music twice as nice: the rhythm is set, and the mood improves. That’s just to carry on Jogging music column is not very convenient, and the headphones are constantly confused and fall out of the ear. Fortunately, the solution to this problem is available: special Bluetooth headset for sports, however, is such a gadget is usually not cheap. The company Harper, known for his unconventional ideas in the field of acoustics, for example, headsets built into gloves or sunglasses, decided to change the situation on the market, releasing Harper HB-300. This stereo headset has a striking design, good sound, not falling out of ears even with acrobatic stunts and is relatively cheap. We could not resist and decided to test the new car.

Headphones are supplied in a translucent box through which you can see one “ear” music of the future satellite, as well as to study the main features of the device according to the inscriptions. In addition to the second halves in opaque part is detected by a set of spare ear cushions, interesting design transactions for charging and the instruction set manual. At our disposal proved to be the gadget a black-and-green coloring, but in the sale is a white and black version, which looks less interesting. Apparently, as compensation for the loss in design, the owners of white version is given in the load corduroy carrying case.

Harper HB-300 is a in-ear headphones connected a hard headband, consisting of two halves. The outer elastic part is made of glossy black plastic, and the interior – bright green soft silicone that fits directly to the head. In the center of the headband bears the logo of the manufacturer. Closer to headphones ear makes the bend and thickens, that’s where the batteries and all controls.

About the left speaker is only undisguised microUSB connector for charging, but right all the more interesting. Here is a multipurpose button, which can be used to enable/disable headphones, to match them with your device, start the music or pause, receive/end call and, finally, to make a repeat call. Sounds a little complicated, but in practice you get used to that. It is very close to red and blue status indicator. It helps to navigate when the headset is searching for new devices or, for example, will soon discharged, but why the led is constantly flashing when just listening to music. This strange behavior drains the battery and is distracting others, and thus carries no information to the user. On the green part of the thickening can be detected by a microphone. Under the multifunction button on the side is a small lever. You can move it up and down: short press will switch tracks, and when you long hold will begin to increase or diminish the volume. By the way, almost all operations are accompanied by an audible warning or signal.

The earbuds themselves are on a small platform and rigidly connected with headband that can create some problems with the positioning of their custom in ear. On top of the speakers wearing the usual rubber ear pads. The quality of manufacture no major complaints, the only, the lever and button have large backlash and even a little rattle when running.

From interesting features can be noted from the connection to two devices. It is very convenient if you use a pair of phones or a phone and tablet. Switching between gadgets occurs automatically, no problems were noticed. Connect headphones via Bluetooth 4.0 (radius of 10 m), and supports working with almost all OS. By the way, on iOS devices in the notification bar even displays the battery level of the headphones. Battery capacity 100 mAh is enough for about 5 hours of continuous music playback or 100 hours in standby mode. To restore full power from the USB port will take about 2 hours, and for charging from a wall outlet for about an hour.

Talk about the sound. From Harper HB-300 very good speakers with 16 Ohms impedance. They reproduce sound in the range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and have a sensitivity of 105 dB. Thanks to the excellent sound insulation cut off all outside noise. Clearly distinguishable as the lower frequency, which is very rarely seen in the “plugs” is not in the premium segment, and vocals. Stock volume is also sufficient. In General, the sound for its size and price the speaker is excellent. Bluetooth connection almost does not distort the sound, only that after mating you need to wait about a minute before turning on the music, otherwise there is a major lag. The voice in conversation is not distorted, in addition, there was a pretty good directional microphone, and the interviewee can even hear the voice when you’re on the street, which is rare for wireless headsets with microphone near speaker.

Since Harper HB-300 has a rigid design, they are not suitable to each user, more precisely in the ears-they stand, but the comfort will be felt not always. The headset is worn so that the headband was on his head, to lie in them, or wearing a hat is not very convenient. In addition, they do not open simultaneously and to listen to music, and talk with the next coming person. It is interesting that the manufacturer offers to wear headphones by bending over the ears, but if you turn them upside down, the feeling is much more comfortable, and the number of “stuttering” that sometimes occur when you first use case, is reduced to almost zero. Thanks to the flexible construction, the headphones are held securely in the ear canals and leave them even at extreme somersaults, but if they don’t fit, you begin to push, and after an hour my ears ache. But if they come to you, soon you not stop them to feel thanks to its light weight 30 g.

Harper HB-300 – good sports headset. It is bright, stylish, holds good charge and delivers good sound quality, despite the wireless interface. Headphones will stay with you even with a very active behaviour, and the price of 2600 rubles – one of the most attractive on the market. However, there is one “but”: the headphones must be suitable for your anatomy, otherwise the ears will quickly begin to whine. That’s why we strongly recommend you to try them on before buying, and if the discomfort would arise, Harper HB-300 will be a perfect acquisition.
