British writer JK Rowling, author of the book series about Harry Potter was put up for auction wooden chair from their home, sitting where she worked on their bestsellers. Bidding took place on Wednesday in new York and, according to the representative of Heritage Auctions, has completed successfully. Oak chair was bought by an unknown admirer of the talent of the writer for 394 thousand dollars.
As explained by JK Rowling herself, she used this chair, made in 1930, when working on novels “Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone” and “Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets” in her apartment in Edinburgh. The writer himself made the inscription on the back in large letters: “I May not seem beautiful, but do not judge by appearance. I wrote the “Harry Potter” sitting on that chair”.
In addition, the chair is engraved with the word “Gryffindor”- the name of the faculty in the School of witchcraft and wizardry “Hogwarts”, where she studied Harry Potter, which certainly adds to his value in the eyes of fans of the Harry Potter books, says TASS.
