Foreign banks after leaving Russia bear serious losses

Foreign banks, which got rid of subsidiaries on Russian territory, in total lost about 1.9 billion rubles. They suffered losses not only due to the liquidation of the business in the country, as well as from the sale. This information was made public in the report of the National rating Agency (NRA), which analyzed the transactions and liquidation events over the last few years.

Most of the foreign credit institutions in the crisis has started to “curtail” its business, actively developing since the beginning of 2000. In accordance with the data of the Central Bank, if we take into account that on 1 January 2012 the country had 77 banks that have one hundred percent foreign capital, on 1 January of the current year the situation changed – the number of these organizations dropped to 68.

In total, losses to foreigners from sales or liquidation of subsidiaries in Russia amounted to at least us $ 1.9 billion. This does not include those funds that are needed to invest in business development and operations.
