Facebook announced a “crusade” against ad blockers

Facebook объявил "крестовый поход" против рекламных блокировщиковThe founder of the social network clearly doesn’t like apps for the browser.

Social network Facebook has announced that users of desktop computers will see the ads regardless of whether they have AdBlock.

Updated Ad Preferences panel will allow you to opt out of the announcements related to a certain theme, for example, advertising about travel or about cats. In addition, users will be able to see the banners from specific companies or organizations. Also in the panel you can see a short list of companies that have added the user to the customer list for any reason.

The representatives of the social network noted that it has introduced new opportunities after a report from research firm Ipsos Connect. Analysis of Internet activity to two thousand people from six countries showed that most people use AdBlock for Intrusive ad’s and possible security risks.

And although at first glance the news is no positive, personally, I’m glad to innovations: it is, at least, will give users of the social network, the incentive to development. Today we can bet on how many days (or hours?) they will go to circumvent the new mechanism.
