Kremlin: meeting of the presidents of the two countries will be held in the first week of August.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said about the preparation of the meeting of Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
As stated Peskov, the two presidents will meet in early August in one of the Russian cities:
“Really, now, through diplomatic channels, is prepared and worked out the meeting of Putin and Erdogan. We agreed that this meeting will be held in the first week of August, it will be in the Russian Federation, but the city and date are yet to be confirmed” – quoted Peskov RIA Novosti.
Turkish-Russian relations deteriorated sharply after the destruction of the Turkish air force Russian su-24, invaded the country’s airspace at the end of November 2015. The Kremlin has consistently demanded from Turkey an apology and compensation for the destroyed plane.
June 27 on the Kremlin website published a statement that Russian President Vladimir Putin received a message from his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan with an apology for the downed bombardirovschik su-24.
