The President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov responded to the request of journalists to comment on the statement by the presidents of the USA and Turkey, Barack Obama and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who requested “to stop Russian attacks in Syria”.
“Russia continues to provide support and assistance to the armed forces of Syria in their offensive actions against terrorists,” – said Peskov.
Earlier, the White house said that U.S. President Barack Obama and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the situation in Syria. In Washington noted that the presidents of the United States and Turkey urged Russia “to cease the attacks on the moderate opposition”.
We will note, Russia has more than once commented regarding whom Moscow considers terrorists. Representatives of the defense Ministry repeatedly appealed to the US partners to provide a list of opposition groups fighting in Syria, but there was no reply.
