Diesel cars 12 times exceed ecological standards in the EU

Дизельные автомобили в 12 раз превышают нормы экологии в ЕС

Environmental norm of the European Union exceeded petrol cars up to 12 times, reports the Guardian, citing a government investigation after a row with Volkswagen.

The Ministry of transport in the UK conducted a study of car brands Ford, Renault and Vauxhall for compliance with environmental regulations. The result was that none of the 37 cars failed the test on emissions of nitrogen oxides. Experts revealed that the level release into the atmosphere of toxic chemical compounds varies considerably when the vehicle is in a static condition in the laboratory and when moving on the road, reports TASS.

The publication notes that unlike the case with Volkswagen in this situation no sanctions to producers will not be applied, because their actions were not deliberate intent.

We will remind, last year a scandal erupted around the Volkswagen group, which was charged with the equipment of their diesel cars software, lowered the real value of emissions of harmful substances. The American government ordered the group to withdraw 482 thousand cars of brands Volkswagen and Audi sold in the country in 2009-2015. The company also faces a fine of up to $ 18,075 billion.

According to the company VW, the falsification of environmental test content of harmful substances in exhaust gases of vehicles affect up to 11 million cars of Volkswagen around the world. This list includes cars with engine type EA 189 EU5. In connection with the scandal was forced to resign of the General Director of Volkswagen Martin Winterkorn, and the scandal has been called “deselect”.

In my defense technicians Volkswagen said that went on with the scandalous manipulation software, as the head of the concern Martin Winterkorn has set an unattainable goal in front of them.

Meanwhile, earlier Thursday, it was reported that employees of the Ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism of Japan carry out inspections in the headquarters and research center for Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors after recognition by the management company of the fact of falsification of technical data of some models.
