Chinese satellite quantum communication has yielded results

Китайский спутник квантовой связи дал первые результатыLaunched recently, the Chinese spacecraft “Mo Tzu” is the first in the history of satellite quantum communication.

Chinese scientists received the first data from the “Mo-Tzu: on the morning of 17 Aug took the ground station of satellite control. Total was transferred to the 202 megabytes of data in good quality. Immediately after receiving the data of Chinese researchers have engaged in the processing of the information received.

We will remind, on Tuesday, August 16, China made a rocket start with the satellite quantum communications “Mo Tzu” on Board. The launch was an important event for both the science of China and for global science in General. The satellite was named after the ancient Chinese philosopher who created the doctrine of universal love.

The device weighs about 600 kg and is orbiting at an altitude of 500 km, the Satellite has the quantum key Communicator, quantum entanglement emitter, quantum entanglement source, a processor and controller quantum experiment, as well as high-speed coherent laser Communicator.

In the mission “Mo Tzu” is planned to implement a quantum information transfer and to establish a secure channel of communication between the capital of China and Vienna. The first three months of their stay in orbit experts will conduct orbital tests.

Then begin a phase of its operation. If all goes according to plan, China will become the first state that will make the transfer of quantum information between the satellite and the Earth. Just as expected, the experiment will last two years.

Recently, the newspaper National Business Daily conducted a survey among analysts: in their opinion, over the next five years will be using quantum communications market, the volume of which will reach 7.5 billion US dollars.

In comparison with the conventional methods of information transfer, quantum networks have one huge advantage: they are protected from third-party reader. Thus, the transmitted data will be protected. This is due to Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle.
