E-paper is created based on graphene.
The Chinese company Guangzhou OED Technologies announced the creation of the e-paper based on graphene that will be used for e-books and various types of wearable electronics.
The novelty turned out very thin, but more sturdy plastic than conventional electronic paper, which will allow to create devices with flexible displays. Graphene electronic paper has higher levels of light transmission, that is made of it the displays will be brighter.
The fact that graphene is derived from carbon means that the new e-paper will be cheaper than conventional electronic paper, which requires a rare and expensive metal indium.
The developers hope to commercialize his invention in the course of the year.
