China declared the highest alert level due to Typhoon

The Chinese authorities announced a “yellow” alert level in connection with the approaching Typhoon “Malakas”. Under forecasts of weather forecasters, the Typhoon will bring heavy rains and strong winds.

According to local media reports, as at 10.00 local time (5.00 am CET) on Saturday, September 17, the Typhoon was recorded in 135 kilometers from the Eastern coast of Taiwan. The wind speed is 50 meters per second.

It is expected that on Saturday and Sunday, the element will trigger heavy rains in the provinces of Zhejiang and Fujian and in the Central and Northern parts of Taiwan. Rainfall may reach 120 millimeters.

Earlier in the Fujian province was struck by a powerful tropical Typhoon “Meranti”, whose victims in total on the island and the mainland were 15 people, another 14 were missing.

As reported Корреспондент.net before this Typhoon Meranti walked along the coast of Taiwan, leaving without electricity for 860 thousand families and violating transport on the island.
