Hundreds of flights canceled: China prepares for powerful Typhoon

Railway administration of China has canceled the departure of 341 trains in Fujian province for the period from Friday to Sunday due to the approximation of the first this year in China Typhoon “Nepartak”.

As expected, the Typhoon will batter the East coast of the country on Saturday morning.

From Friday to Monday, meteorologists predict, in Fujian precipitation may fall up to 300 mm.

Previously, the government suspended the Thursday ferry service between Fujian province and the island of Taiwan, also ordered a ban on deep sea fishing vessels based in the ports and bays of Fujian, Guangdong and Zhejiang.

The Typhoon could worsen the situation with heavy rains that caused floods, landslides and mudflows in Eastern, southern and Central China. The disaster resulted in the deaths of 160 people and another 28 reported missing, mostly in the pool, China’s largest Yangtze river. Only in Hubei province had killed 69 people, 16 have gone missing.

Evacuated of 1.84 million people, destroyed about 56 thousand of homes washed away in more than 560 thousand hectares of crops.

To date, the direct economic losses from weather are estimated at almost 58 billion yuan (8.6 billion dollars).
