Cardiologists have allowed sedentary work

Кардиологи разрешают сидячую работу Scientists from two major U.S. institutes of Texas and Minnesota calculated how much per day can be performed in a sitting position.

So on average, without harm to the cardiovascular system, an individual could spend 10 hours in any static position.

“Sedentary” work or office work has repeatedly attracted the interest of physicians, in connection with the increasing incidence of diseases of the spine, blood vessels, and the development of obesity, as a result of heart disease. So, within 11 years of the experiment, the scientists determined the amount of man-hours that a man can do without harming their health. The experiment was conducted on the volunteers aged 18 years. All featured 720 thousand.

Scientists developed algorithm was able to calculate the probability of developing cardiovascular disease, correlating them with the time of stay in “sit” position. So, for an 8-hour – 10-hour day at the computer, the risk increases by 8%. Rate higher than 12.5 man-hours leads to risk of heart problems in 15% of cases.

Also in these figures includes any static activity – rest near the TV on the couch, eating and so on.
