Sedan 1-Series was developed specifically for the Chinese market.
The company BMW has officially unveiled the production sedan 1-Series. The model was developed by the German company in cooperation with Chinese automaker Brilliance. Assembly chetyrehdverki will establish a China joint venture of BMW and Brilliance BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.
Sedan 1-Series was developed specifically for the Chinese market. The project involved the specialists from the headquarters of BMW in Germany and Chinese engineers. Road tests chetyrehdverki conducted in different regions in China under different weather conditions and on roads of any quality.
No technical details about the sedan 1-Series in the BMW failed. Edition Motor1 implies that the model is built on front-drive UKL platform that underpins the latest MINI, the compact MPV BMW 2-Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer.
In the publication CarAdvice also suggest that the basis of the model is the chassis UKL, but with a number of improvements for the Chinese market.
The motors, transmissions, trim levels and prices of the sedan 1-Series in the BMW data is not provided. Also it is not known whether the model sold outside of China.
A conceptual forerunner of the sedan BMW 1-Series is the prototype Concept Compact Sedan Concept car to debut in November 2015 at the motor show in Guangzhou.
