Blizzard doesn’t want to dredge up the past.
After a wave of reissues of all kinds of its share of nostalgia wanted to and fans of Blizzard. At BlizzCon 2016 fans directly asked the developers and they are not going to release updated versions of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft 2?
The question answered one of the founders of Blizzard, Frank Pearce (Frank Pearce). According to him, the company managed to keep their source code and resources of the original games. But today it is very difficult to disassemble and to remember how it works. They say developers forgot, which they then heaped up.
In a Blizzard there were a few people who with a twinkle in his eye started to dig into the code first Warcraft. They managed to run the game in a window, and pierce is a bit of urging. Says Frank, Orcs & Humans was great for its time. But by modern standards it is not too exciting.
Besides, Blizzard has limited labor resources. The company prefers to spend it on content for World of Warcraft or Overwatch, and if not throw employees to the embodiment of new ideas.
