the company Audi has published the first teaser image of the A5 coupe new generation. Car sales in Europe should start next year. The main competitor of the car is called the BMW 4-Series. Premiere of the car will take place on 2 June in Ingolstadt, where the model will be assembled.
New A5 will be equipped with modified bumpers, a different grille, new optics, integrated spoiler and other intakes. Also, the car will complement the new exhaust system.
Audi A5 will be built on the second version of the platform MLB. Due to the extensive use of high-strength steel, aluminum and composite materials the weight of the car should decrease by about 90 pounds. The main advantage of the improved platform MLB – the ability to install many different powertrains.
According to unofficial information under the hood of new items will install a 1.4 – and 2.0-liter TFSI powertrain. The latter will be available in two capacity variants: 190 and 250 horsepower. Also available will be “charged” version of the S5, which will get 3.0-liter TFSI engine. The output of the motor will be 354 HP and 500 Nm of torque.
In addition to the engine range will be presented and diesel units with a displacement of 1.6 and 2.0 liters. Also provided is a hybrid version of the car, which will be equipped with electric motor and gasoline engine.
Also, the coupe will get “charged” version called the RS. This car will compete with the Mercedes-AMG C63 and the BMW M4. The machine will complement gasoline V6 engine with a turbocharger. The capacity of the unit will be about 500 horsepower.
