The woman could not pass a dying possum, her compassion saved the animal’s life.
At first the poor animal lay motionless and looked dead, but then lifted a bloody muzzle. Obregon visited the female (as it turned out) of a possum and discovered that she not only injured (probably by a shot from the pneumatic weapon), but is also pregnant.
“I realized that I could not leave her,” — says Obregon. She put the possum in a box and brought into the house to mother-in-law, where called for the protection of wildlife.
“She never even tried to bite me. She knew I was trying to help her, not harm”.
Scared to death the beast for some reason just chose husband’s mother-in-law climbed up on his chest and snuggled – so for some reason she felt calmer.
Possum called Angel. Once the female recovers, she’ll be released in areas where hunting is prohibited.
