This week the head of the independent Commission of the world anti-doping Agency Richard McLaren issued a report on state supported doping system in Russia.
The McLaren referred to several positive doping test in the Russian Premier League, Herbert is convinced that UEFA should pay more attention to that statement.
“Only in the Premier League are 16 teams, so the probability of participating in European competition the Russian club, whose players used doping, quite high.
The whole world is waiting for the IOC that he will not waver and will not let Russia to the Olympic games. At the same time, fans expect that UEFA will punish clubs that don’t play fair, and close them the way in the competition,” writes Herbert.
The journalist notes that special suspicion should fall on “Zenit”, because the structure of the St. Petersburg club at the time included the current Minister of sport Vitaly Mutko, who is one of the main figurants of the report of McLaren.
