It is not excluded that will discuss the issue of freezing of oil production. “There are several scenarios, including this one,” said the source.

According to him, the second question of the summit was the election of the Secretary-General of the organization, who will replace Abdullah al-Badri. “Currently, there are several candidates for this post. Starting with Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq. These candidate countries were in the list for voting in previous years. If we talk about the latest is Indonesia, Nigeria and Venezuela,” — said the Agency interlocutor.

Representatives of the Ministry of energy of Russia will not participate in the summit in Vienna.

May 31, Reuters reported that the most likely candidate for the post of OPEC Secretary General is the representative of Nigeria, the former head of the state oil company NNPC, Mohammed Barkindo.

At the previous meeting of the Organization of countries-exporters of oil, held in Doha on 17 April, the agreement on the freezing of oil production was not achieved.

The organization of countries-exporters of oil (OPEC) is an international intergovernmental organisation of oil-producing countries: Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Qatar, Libya, UAE, Algeria, Nigeria, Ecuador, Angola and Indonesia.
