Missile system Iskander-M, have been transferred by Russia to the Kaliningrad region, can be equipped with nuclear warheads, said the Minister of defence of Sweden Peter Hultqvist.
“We see signals of a provocative policy, which is exacerbating the situation in the region. The situation is aggravated by the possible presence of nuclear weapons”, – quotes the words of Hultqvist Swedish newspaper Sydsvenskan.
According to the Minister, Russia’s actions are in response to the strengthening of the contingent of the North Atlantic Alliance in the Baltic region.
“[The strengthening of NATO’s presence] is a consequence of the annexation of Crimea and events in Ukraine”, – said Hultquist.
