The higher the frame rate, the more realistic the picture becomes. A few years ago, a similar experiment was conducted by Peter Jackson, released in the rental version of “the Hobbit” with a frequency of 48 frames per second (48 fps), however, according to Boxofficemojo, the audience were less popular than normal (24 fps). Directed by ang Lee in an interview with ScreenDaily, which was published in September, admitted that the quality of the images obtained during filming, was very surprised, triggering a violent reaction. In his opinion, to see the picture that was taken, was only at the stage of post production, so the Director on the set didn’t exactly know whether it is true is exposed in the frame the light as the actors have to look at each other, so it was plausible. Eng Lee believes that the frequency of 120 frames per second very soon will be accepted as the only correct format for showing movies. He noted that 2D films at a frequency of 24 fps and 3D movies at a frequency of 120 fps are two completely different forms of cinema.

Modern viewers, accustomed to the adopted in the last century the standard 24 frames per second, yet speak about the new technology negatively. Judging by the publications in the Network, the picture in the movie “Long walk Billy Lynn during the break of a football match” turned out to be overly realistic.

Critic edition of Indiewire David Elrich on his page on Twitter praised ang Lee for trying:120 frames per second is the possible future of sports, documentary or pornographic films, but is clearly not an entertaining movie. God bless ang Lee for trying, but the picture in this format looks as though on fast-forward. Gipper-realism stresses the artificiality of what is happening”.

On top of that most cinemas in the world not currently equipped with equipment capable of showing movies in 4k resolution with a frame rate of 120 fps, so the audience in the near future are unlikely to ever see the new film by ang Lee in the form in which he conceived it.
