The government does not yet have the necessary financial resource for an immediate increase in social standards in Ukraine, said during the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

“We now have an additional resource no. Due to the significant drop in oil prices, due to the collapse in prices for main export positions of Ukraine, we will be very difficult to fulfill the budget. I say: if the implementation of the budget will be better than expected, it means that money will be spent on social payments”, – said Yatsenyuk.

He also reminded that in 2015 the inflation rate was a record – exceeding 43%, and the decision of the Parliament and the government on the indexation of wages and pensions by 13% and 19% did not offset the rising prices.

“What is the goal we have for this year? This year it is necessary to maintain price stability. For us, the anchor of inflation – 12%. Objectively, that this anchor is tied to the ten parameters. The first and main rate of the national currency. And I hope that the national Bank will do everything to ensure currency stability, – said Yatsenyuk. – To the NBU managed to do it, we need to stay in the program with our partners, including with the IMF, and to make decisions, signed by the President, the Prime Minister. We increase social standards (this year – ED.) by 12% to compensate for inflation”.

Earlier, the Prime Minister noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will hold the first in the current year indexation of salaries and pensions in may, as planned in the state budget for the current year. Minimum wage, according to the budget, from 1 January 2016, amounts to 1330 UAH, from 1 may 1399 UAH, from December 1 – UAH 1496. The minimum wage: from 1 January – UAH 1378, from may 1 – 1450 UAH, from December 1 – 1550 UAH.
