This month will conclude the shooting of domestic movie-dystopia “Ikaria”, which was based on the legend of Icarus, to which his father Daedalus made wings fastened together with wax. Before the flight, Daedalus explained to Icarus, to rise too high can be dangerous, because the sun will melt the wax, but fly too low, too, is impossible, because the sea water gets on the feathers and they get wet. Icarus, forgetting his father’s instruction, climbed too high, the sun melted the wax, and the young man drowned.

The plot of “Ikaria” tells the story of television survival shows in which every trial threatens its members with death. The program organizers promise the winners of immortality – so several people are trapped in a true adventure.

The film was launched in may of this year – the shooting of “Ikaria” was held in Moscow, and Malta. Island nation for work not chosen by chance – there was created a unique shooting water space (pool of enormous size), the boundaries of which merge on the horizon with the sea. On top of that Malta could not be better suited to the role of the island of Crete, where the unfolding events of the legend of Icarus. The film was made by Javor Gardev, and the major role it played Ivan Jankowski, Maria Fomin, Igor mirkurbanov, Olga Zersen and others.
