Next year in Russia will come into circulation banknotes of 2000 (two thousand), and 200 (two hundred) roubles. This was reported to journalists by the Governor of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina.
Nabiullina stressed that the issue of additional values will not affect the amount of cash in circulation, but the cash for the citizens easier. “In our view, the addition of the nominal series of banknotes will simplify the calculations of citizens for goods and services”, — said the head of the Central Bank, quoted by RIA “Novosti”.
It is specified that at the moment the Russians make payments in the range between 100 and 500 rubles, and between 1000 and 5000 rubles.
In addition, the Central Bank proceed from the principle that, when projected in 2017 inflation to 4% (according to other sources 6%), production of banknotes in denominations of 200 and 2,000 rubles, it is economically justified.
