In Turkey there was a coup attempt. The whole world is watching events happening in Istanbul. As often happened in history, including the history of the Turkish Republic, the military tried to seize power, displacing the incumbent. According to reports at this hour, “the coup” successfully suppressed by government forces, although, unfortunately, not without casualties.
In this regard, I would like to raise a question that is on the agenda in Turkey since the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the reign of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, namely: Turkey to be an Islamic or a secular Republic?
As you know, Kemal Ataturk managed to carry out reforms aimed at the formation of the young Turkish Republic on a secular footing. These reforms were not welcomed by all turizmovedeniya.
