American biologists have spent testing the properties of the grapes on the laboratory rats. Scientists have examined the effects of grapes, mixing several types of berries /green, red and black/ daily food of rodents in a dry form.

All animals before adding dry grape mixture fed salt-enriched diet to improve blood pressure. After 18 weeks the rats had recorded a decrease of pressure, improved heart function and fewer signs of damage to the heart muscle.

According to cardiologists at the University of Michigan, benefits of grapes are to phytochemically, natural antioxidants, including protective process in the genes and thereby blocking the damage to the heart muscle. Chemical in
grapes reduce potentially harmful molecular and cellular activity in the body. Heart cells, like other cells in the body produce the antioxidant protein glutathione, which primarily protects our body from
damage of oxidative stress. High blood pressure causes this oxidative stress in the heart and reduces the amount of protective glutathione, explain the doctors.

When eating grapes glutathione is actually activated, regulating gene expression in the heart and increasing its concentration. Thus the heart works better and is protected from possible disorders.
