In “1984” George Orwell described the superpower – Oceania – the language of war inverted lies which that he “made history and became truth.” “Who controls the past,” – says the slogan of the Party is “who controls the future: who controls the present, controls the past.” Barack Obama – the leader of a contemporary Oceania. Two presentations in the end of the decade, the Nobel laureate affirmed that the world now is not peace, but constant war, which “has expanded far beyond Afghanistan and Pakistan” in “disorganized regions, the defective state in which they live enemies.” He called for a “global security” and asked for our support. The people of Afghanistan, who won the US, he said wittily: “we Have no interest in occupying your country”.
In Oceania, truth and lies are inseparable. According to the statements of Obama, the Americans attacked Afghanistan in 2001, with the permission of the UN Security Council. But there was no resolution of the United Nations. He said that “the whole world” supported the conquest of Afghanistan after the attacks of 11 September 2001. In fact, all but three of the 37 countries Gallup surveyed, expressed disagreement. He said that America invaded Afghanistan “only after the Taliban refused to extradite Osama bin Laden.” The Pakistani military said that in 2001, the Taliban tried three times to transfer bin Laden to court, but it paid no attention.
Even Obama’s mystification: that the September 11 attacks to justify his war is a lie. Two months before the bombings of the twin towers, the Bush administration said the Pakistani diplomat Niaz Nike that the US planned the war in mid-October. The power of the Taliban, is secretly supported by the administration of President Clinton, more was not considered sufficiently stable to ensure American control over oil and gas pipelines in the Caspian region. Now he had to leave.
The most blatant lie of Obama: that Afghanistan today is a “safe haven” for all attacks of al-Qaeda to the West. US intelligence claims that 90% of the Taliban – hardly Taliban at all, rather it is a “local tribal rebels, who see themselves as opposing the US because we invaded their country.” This war is a fraud. Only clinical idiots continue to believe that Obama is a symbol of “world peace”.
Beneath the surface, however, lurks a serious thing. And bloody practice of General Stanley McChrystal, who was known for creating in Iraq the firing of the troops, the occupation of Afghanistan is the model for all the weak countries, which hold the democratic arms of Oceania. It is called Coin (counter – insurgency – the fight against the guerrillas) – combining military, humanitarian organizations, psychologists, anthropologists, the media and propaganda. Under the cover of jargon about winning hearts and minds, this program incite civil war: Tajiks and Uzbeks against Pashtuns.
In Iraq, the Americans have already destroyed a multi-ethnic society. They built walls between communities who previously lived together and married each other, arranging the ethnic cleansing of the Sunnis by killing and expelled from the country by millions of people. The controlled media call it “world”. American academics bought by the government and “security experts” associated with the Pentagon, help the BBC to spread the good news. As in “1984”, the reality is the opposite.
Something similar is planned for Afghanistan. People are forced into “target areas” controlled by warlords, which is financed by the CIA and the drug mafia. The fact that there reigns a barbaric, doesn’t matter. “We can live with that,” said clintonesque diplomat, about the establishment of Sharia law in a “stable” Afghanistan under Taliban control. Preferred Western “charities”, the engineers and agricultural experts “actually get to the humanitarian crisis and ensure the safety of the” land of the enslaved peoples.
It is a strategy. It was used for the conquest of Yugoslavia, where the world was blown up by ethnic-sectarian divisions. But in Vietnam, it failed. Then it was called “Strategic hamlet program”. According to the plans of the CIA she had to divide, weaken and conquer the population of the country and defeat of the Vietnam people’s army. Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Ukraine, Libya, Syria, Somalia… – the picture of the conquest is the same everywhere.
Behind all this is Israel, which has long pushed the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan. The occupation, ethnic cleansing, wall building, checkpoints, collective punishment and total surveillance – with the help of these innovations captured Palestine and destroyed its people. But, despite this strategy to divide Palestinians failed, they feel themselves as one people.
Propaganda tries to do everything that we can recall the unfortunate predecessors of Obama in Afghanistan: England in the nineteenth century and the USSR in the twentieth century, which lost its soldiers there, but eventually left because of popular resistance. “It is curious,” wrote Orwell in “1984”, “to think that the sky was the same for everyone in Eurasia and Eastasia, as here. And people under this sky was the same everywhere in the world… people, unaware of each other’s existence, separated by walls of hatred and lies, and also equally these people… kept in their hearts, bellies and muscles the power that would one day overturn the world.”
