VTB has won a billion rubles from the former operator of duty free Sheremetyevo

VTB Bank has won a lawsuit against the former operator of duty free shops Sheremetyevo airport in the amount of one billion rubles, reports RAPSI.

It was about the recovery of the debt under the credit agreement from October 2014. The company “Aerotest” properly extinguished loan until November 2015, and then stopped paying and the principal amount and interest thereon. After that, VTB decided to go to court.

In the course of the proceedings, the court had dismissed the counterclaim “Aerofest” in which the operator of the duty free sought to challenge the terms of the credit agreement. The court also rejected the application of the defendant to prosecute the case as third party guarantors on the loan and the petition for joinder with the claim of the Bank against the guarantor. Moscow arbitration has also decided to defer consideration of the case to settle the dispute peacefully.

In February, in the registry information about the facts of activity of legal entities contains information that the savings Bank intends to submit the claim about bankruptcy “Aerofest”.

At the end of January claims to “Aerofirst” and its shareholder — “Arial” — for a total amount of 2.6 billion rubles was filed by VTB Bank.

In mid-January in terminal D of Sheremetyevo airport closed oldest of Moscow duty free, which was owned by “Aerofirst”.

“Aerofest” operates a network of Moscow duty free. The main shareholder is the company “Arial” businessman Robert Martirosyan, who bought “Aerofest” in 2013, for 1.2 billion rubles. Prior to this transaction, approximately 67% of shares of “Aerofest” belonged to “Aeroflot”.
