Representatives of the car manufacturer Volvo announced that the company intends to equip the crossover ХС40 new engine and platform.

It is noted that the developers will use the modern platform of the AGR, as well as the original engine, which had no analogues earlier in one of the lines. Based on the new platform will be further released another 3 cars, which information has been received previously. According to preliminary data, under the hood novelties will be the engine volume of 1.5 liters, working in tandem with three cylinders. Engineers will create this unit based on the existing version with a volume of 2 liters. It is reported that ХС40 will be released in several versions.
The release date is currently unknown. Experts say that on a prototype will have to sweat, because the developers intend to create a version capable of producing 180 horsepower. The basis for implementation of the project will be a hybrid powertrain concept. The concern also plans to launch the V40 hatchback and wagon.
